Streetlight to Update on Tuesdays, 2 More Shows Posted

The Streetlight site received yet another update today, the bulk of it regarding future updates:

We will try our best to post SM (and related) news primarily on Tuesdays. Throughout the week, randomly, we may post a blurb or two, but we’ll try our best to reserve the bigger stuff for the day after Monday (or late, late Monday night. Since we like to sleep in. You know, since we’re lazy, deadbeat no-good musicians and all. Don’t judge us. Shut up.) This way you know you can check in once a week for the most recent news. Or whatever.

On the tour front the main support for Leg One of 4OO7I3B9 is HiFi Handgrenades, and 2 new dates have been posted, in Cleveland, Ohio and Phoenix, Arizona.

They also mention the earlier Pentimento announcement (which will apparently involve more information about the elusive RISC) and link to their MySpace.

Tomas to release The Stitch Up’s debut album

In an interview with Punknews.org Dan Potthast has announced that the debut album by his new band, The Stitch Up, will be released by Tomas Kalnoky on a “new label” that is presumably Pentimento Music. This would seem to be confirmed by The Stitch Up’s Myspace. He also announced that The Stitch Up and Streetlight Manifesto are to tour together this winter, and that Streetlight’s album will be out by then.

RISC to release Dan Potthast album after all?

After Ska is Dead.com announced and then retracted that Dan Potthast’s next solo album would be released on the RISC Group it would appear there has been some confirmation as the RISC store has added several new categories in the past 24 hours, one of which is called Dan Potthast. The category is currently empty but presumably you will be able to purchase the album and maybe other merchandise from there in the future.

Dan Potthast, the MU330 frontman, is recording his third solo album and according to Ska is Dead.com [It] will be all ska based and recorded by Tomas Kalnoky( Streetlight Manifesto). Tomas is also planning on releasing it on his new label. which presumably refers to the RISC Group.

Update: It appears Ska is Dead.com have pulled the interesting part of the story (though they have failed to state why or even acknowledge that they have done so) so presumably this info is false.
