Jamie first became involved with RISC when he joined Catch 22 as their trombone player. He was recruited through Kevin Gunther who Jamie had taught trumpet to since Kevin was 10. Jamie is a very talented musician and is able to play many instruments, as demonstrated on Keasbey Nights where as well as trombone he also played flute, french horn, irish tin whistle, and performed vocals.
Out of Josh, Tomas, and himself, Jamie was the last to leave Catch 22, and did so due to personal reasons. However he kept in contact with Catch 22 and arranged the strings on their second album Alone in the Crowd.
After Catch 22 Tomas contacted Jamie to ask if he would perform on A Call to Arms, which Jamie accepted. After ACtA he became involved in Streetlight Manifesto, and performed trumpet and trombone on the Demo and Everything Goes Numb. He then went on to tour and play trumpet with Streetlight up until January 2005, when he again had to leave for personal reasons, this time to spend more time with his children and his music students.
